Starting and finishing point of the round the lake walk is Ebner's Waldhof

A breath-taking walk around Lake Fuschl

The round the Lake Fuschl walk takes around 3 ½ hours and leads you on a charming hiking path through dense forests and lush meadows and never strays far from the shores of the emerald green lake.

The walk is particularly beautiful in spring when the countryside is coming into bloom, the rays of the sun get warmer and the days slowly last longer. Along the route there is so much to explore. After the long winter, trees and flowers are given a new lease of life and the animals come out of hibernation - set off on the walk and see what you can discover!

The different stages of the Lake Fuschl walk

You're on holiday with your children and you don't think they'll manage the full 3 ½ hours? No problem! You can do the first stretch of the walk, stop off for refreshments and walk back the same way you came. Or, you can take advantage of the great hotel's own wooden passenger boat, the Fuschlerin. Either, walk to the Castle Fishery which is pretty much in the middle of the walk and catch the boat back to the lakeside promenade right outside the Ebner's Waldhof, or start with a boatride and walk back.

The round the lake walk takes you right past Castle Fuschl

Although you've never been to Fuschl am See before, and yet Castle Fuschl, that perches so magnificently on a small rocky hilltop at the far end of the lake, looks so familiar. That's because the charming castle, now run as a hotel, has been the location for several famous films, probably the most famous of which bein the Sissi Trilogy starting Romy Schneidegr and Karl Heinz Böhm.

Our staff at the Waldhof reception are more than happy to give you more detailed information about the round the lake wall and boat departure times - we look forward to being of assistance.
