The round the Lake Wolfgangsee Race in the wonderful Salzkammergut Lake District took place for the first time on October 26th 1971. Since then it has become a "not to be missed" event in the racing calendars of athletes from all over the world. The Lake Wolfgangsee Race is one of the pioneer endurance sport events in the region and attracts sports enthusiasts in great numbers to the picturesque Lake Wolfgangsee region.
From Ebner's Waldhof by Lake Fuschl you can reach the shores of Lake Wolfgangsee in just ten minutes by car. Annually on the third Sunday in October the traditional course is set for the race: This marathon route takes runners past rustic mountain huts, through dense forests, alongside dramatic mountain peaks and beside the beautiful turquoise waters of Lake Wolfgang. Runners who need an energy boost can stop at any of the many food and drink stops en-route.
