Hiking: Family-friendly hiking trails and inviting mountain hut restaurants with playgrounds surround the Waldhof and make a day out in the fresh mountain air easy and fun to enjoy. 

Cycling: There are a number of cycle trails in the region that are suited to family biking tours with children. The cycle trail along the shores of Wolfgangsee Lake is nice and flat and there are plenty of opportunities for a motivation ice cream along the way. 

Water sports: As motorboats are not permitted on Lake Fuschl, the water sports revolve around electric boats, rowing boats and SUPs. If you looking for more action then try a banana-boat ride on neighbouring Wolfgangsee Lake.

Fuschlseebad - beach and sports club

This beach has the most to offer out of all the pay beaches around Lake Fuschl: Here there is not only a lovely, wide shingle beach but also a heated outdoor sports pool, a children's pool, water slide and sports equipment hire.  The Fuschlseebad is a beach club paradise for kids of all ages.

Pay beach Stöllinger on the south shores of Lake Fuschl

These lakeside bathing lawns offer you a quieter place for sunbathing and swimming. From here you can look out over Lake Fuschl and simply enjoy your day. 

• Facilities: kiosk with a small beer garden, bathing lawns, jetty, playground and WC facilities  
• Dates: open from May to mid-September only on good weather days

Natural beach, Hof bei Salzburg

This is considered one of the most beautiful spots around Lake Fuschl. A long wooden jetty with a lounging platform provides easy access to the water. Refreshments are available and there is also a beach volleyball court.

Pay beach Wesenauer on the south shores of Lake Fuschl

Just a 10 - 15 minute walk from Ebner's Waldhof will bring you to the Wesenauer pay beach. This is an idyllic lake-side bathing spot with lots of trees for shade. In the water there are number of features that will keep the keeps happy for hours.

Hintersee Lake in Faistenau

If you are looking for an idyllic spot for a day by the lake, then Hintersee Lake is the place. The mountain panoramas that surround the lake, tucked away in a hidden side valley give the lake a slightly mystic feeling. There are a couple of small pay beaches or simply choose one of the secluded coves around the lake, spread out your towel and enjoy a day by the lake.

Irrsee Lake

The Irrsee, also known as the Zellersee, is among the warmer swimming lakes in the Salzkammergut. This is a picturesque lake surrounded by fantastic scenery.

Mondsee Lake

Enjoy a great day by the lake with magnificent views of the impressive Schafberg and Drachenwand Mountains. Be prepared for a surprise, the lake is not as small as it looks.

Wolfgangsee Lake

The Wolfgangsee Lake heads the list of popular lakes in the Salzkammergut. It has a surface area of   12.84 km² and is 114 metres deep at the deepest point making it one of the largest lakes in the region. Attersee Lake

With a surface area of 47 m2 Attersee is the largest lake that lies in its entirety in Austria). The lake is particularly popular among sailors, but the lake also attracts scuba divers, water skiers, paragliders and swimmers.

Wiestalstausee Reservoir

The reservoir in Wiestal Valley is a well-kept secret. There are very few buildings around the lake and the shoreline is for the better part unspoiled. Small beaches and coves are dotted around the lake and are free for bathers and swimmers to use.  Simply look for the best spot, spread out your towel and enjoy the refreshing waters of the Wiestal Reservoir.
